ISTIGFAAR: WHY DO WE NEED TO SEEK ALLAH'S FORGIVENESS?
The beauty in the nature of the soul(inner self) is that it recognizes when it is wrong! We may sometimes deny, trying to cover it or say “it’s not that bad” but we all know when we have crossed the boundaries! Seeking Allah’s forgiveness is highly recommended in the Quran and sunnah. We are encouraged to do that in so many ways, like how it is said in the Quran surah Nuh , it will cause Allah to literally send down the sky, and this is used in the context of someone struggling with their finances. Very motivating, but why do we need to seek Allah’s forgiveness? فَقُلۡتُ ٱسۡتَغۡفِرُواْ رَبَّكُمۡ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ غَفَّارٗا (Sahih International) And said, ‘Ask forgiveness of your Lord. Indeed, He is ever a Perpetual Forgiver. -Surah Nuh, Ayah 10 يُرۡسِلِ ٱلسَّمَآءَ عَلَيۡكُم مِّدۡرَارٗا (Sahih International) He will send [rain from] the sky upon you in [continuing] showers -Surah Nuh, Ayah 11 وَيُمۡدِدۡكُم بِأَمۡوَٰلٖ وَبَنِينَ وَيَجۡعَل لَّكُمۡ جَنَّٰتٖ وَيَجۡعَل لَّكُمۡ أَنۡهَٰرٗا (Sa
